Overview
The Harmar AL100 and AL100HD are fully powered, hitch-mounted platform lifts designed to transport mobility scooters with lifting capacities of 350 lb and 400 lb respectively. They feature automatic scooter hold-down, fold vertically when not in use, and are compatible with most minivans, SUVs, trucks, and vans.
Fully Powered, Hitch-Mounted Scooter Lift in Two Capacities
The Harmar AL100 and AL100HD are fully powered, hitch-mounted platform lifts that carry your mobility scooter on the back of the vehicle, keeping the cargo area free for everything else. Choose the AL100 (350 lb capacity) for most travel and mid-size scooters, or step up to the AL100HD (400 lb) for larger models. Drive on and press a toggle switch — the automatic hold-down foot secures the scooter, and the lift does the rest.

Good to Know
- Hitch requirement: the AL100 needs a Class II hitch or greater; the AL100HD needs Class III or greater. Depending on your vehicle's hitch height, a Harmar hitch adapter may be required — we confirm fitment before shipping.
- Power hookup: the lift is powered from your vehicle's electrical system — a hardwire kit is standard, and a 7-pin hookup is available for vehicles with a 7-pin connector; an optional portable battery pack lets you skip vehicle wiring entirely.
- Scooters only: the AL100 series is designed for mobility scooters, not power chairs — if you drive a power chair, look at the Harmar AL300 instead.
- Optional extras: Harmar also offers a protective cover and the MultiView backup camera for the AL100 series — the camera keeps a clear rear view whether the platform is stowed or carrying a scooter. Ask us about adding either.

Harmar warrants its vehicle lifts to be free from defects in material, mechanical and electrical components (parts) for three (3) years from the date of retail purchase, provided the lift has been installed, maintained and operated properly by an authorized Harmar distributor or certified Harmar installer.

The Harmar AL100 Universal Scooter Lift - Swing-Away Economy Model has a lift capacity of 350 lbs. If you need additional capacity, the AL100HD version supports up to 400 lbs. Both models are designed to accommodate mobility travel scooters and full-size mobility scooterss.
The Harmar AL100 Universal Scooter Lift - Swing-Away Economy Model is compatible with a Class II hitch receiver or greater (the AL100HD requires a Class III receiver or greater). The standard hitch height range is 6" to 18" without the Swing-Away attachment, or 6" to 16" with the Swing-Away option. If your hitch height is between 17" and 18" with the Swing-Away, you will need a 2-inch drop hitch.
The Harmar AL100 Universal Scooter Lift - Swing-Away Economy Model features a 27.5" wide platform that can be adjusted up to 39" in length and extended up to 46", accommodating scooters with a wheelbase up to 42 inches. The adjustable cradle extends up to 47", making it compatible with a wide range of mobility scooters. Customized platform sizes are also available and are 15 to 25% lighter than standard options.
The Harmar AL100 Universal Scooter Lift - Swing-Away Economy Model comes with a 3-year limited warranty. This warranty covers defective parts, shipping damage, and normal wear and tear, with Harmar committing to repair or replace any faulty components during the coverage period.
The Harmar AL100 Universal Scooter Lift - Swing-Away Economy Model includes an optional Swing-Away Attachment (AL105) that allows the lift to swing to the side, providing full rear-end access to your vehicle even when the lift is installed. When the platform is empty, it automatically folds up and attaches to the rear of the vehicle, minimizing its footprint and reducing the risk of back injury during storage.
Per Harmar, vehicle lifts get power from the vehicle's battery: the lift is connected to the vehicle's electrical system and operated with controls inside or near the lift. Some lifts can also run from an independent battery pack dedicated to the lift, so it stays functional even if the vehicle's main battery is low or off — where Harmar offers that option for this model it appears in the configurator above.
