What happens after you order
- Order received. Your options and delivery choice are saved with the order, and you get an order confirmation by email.
- Shipped. This product ships from the manufacturer or by freight carrier. Carrier transit time does not include order processing or manufacturer lead time.
- Delivery is scheduled with you. The freight delivery agent contacts you directly to set an appointment; freight transit is typically one to two weeks after dispatch.
- Delivered the way you chose. Free curbside (lift-gate) delivery is included.
- Inspect it on arrival. If a shipment is severely damaged, refuse it, and report damage or a wrong item within 48 hours.
- Changed your mind before it ships? An order can be canceled before it ships; special-order and custom-built products cannot be canceled once production has begun.

Fully Powered Hitch-Mount Lift for Power Wheelchairs
The Harmar AL500 is a fully powered, hitch-mounted exterior platform lift that carries your power wheelchair on the back of a minivan, SUV, or truck — keeping the cargo space inside your vehicle free. It suits power chair users who want simple switch-controlled loading with no modifications to the chair: four self-tensioning Q'Straint retractors secure it automatically. Choose the standard AL500 (350 lb capacity) or the AL500HD (400 lb) for larger chairs.
Good to Know
- Hitch required: the AL500 needs a Class II or greater hitch receiver; the AL500HD requires Class III or greater. Your vehicle's tongue-weight rating (roughly 10% of its tow rating) must handle the lift — 75 lb (AL500) or 77 lb (AL500HD) — plus your chair's weight. We confirm every vehicle-lift order by phone before it ships.
- Swing-away is optional, not included: add it if you need to open a rear hatch or tailgate with the lift mounted. Standard (400 lb max) and lightweight (350 lb max) versions are available in the options above.
- Power hookup: the lift runs off vehicle power — a hardwire kit is the standard setup, with a 7-pin hookup or self-contained battery pack available as options.

Harmar Vehicle Lift — Three-Year Transferable Limited Warranty
Harmar warrants its vehicle lifts to be free from defects in material, mechanical and electrical components (parts) for three (3) years from the date of retail purchase, provided the lift has been installed, maintained and operated properly by an authorized Harmar distributor or certified Harmar installer.
