Overview
The Harmar AL500 is a hitch-mounted power lift designed to transport power wheelchairs on minivans, SUVs, and trucks, with a weight capacity of 350 lbs (or 400 lbs with the HD model). It features fully powered lifting and folding with 4 self-tensioning Q-Retractors and mounts to the exterior rear of the vehicle to preserve interior cargo space. - Hitch required: the AL500 needs a Class II or greater hitch receiver; the AL500HD requires Class III or greater. Your vehicle's tongue-weight rating (roughly 10% of its tow rating) must handle the lift — 75 lb (AL500) or 77 lb (AL500HD) — plus your chair's weight. We confirm every vehicle-lift order by phone before it ships.
- Swing-away is optional, not included: add it if you need to open a rear hatch or tailgate with the lift mounted. Standard (400 lb max) and lightweight (350 lb max) versions are available in the options above.
- Power hookup: the lift runs off vehicle power — a hardwire kit is the standard setup, with a 7-pin hookup or self-contained battery pack available as options.

Harmar warrants its vehicle lifts to be free from defects in material, mechanical and electrical components (parts) for three (3) years from the date of retail purchase, provided the lift has been installed, maintained and operated properly by an authorized Harmar distributor or certified Harmar installer.
