Harmar AL300 is a hitch-mounted lift and can be installed into a hitch class II, III or V receiver ( Class II has a 1 7/8" Hitch opening) and ( Class III has a 2 " hitch open). A standard hitch adapter is included; because the correct adapter depends on your vehicle’s receiver height and bumper distance, we confirm the exact part with you before your lift ships. For the Harmar hitch-mounted lift to work with your vehicle, you must already have a Class II, Class III or Class V receiver installed. You will need to contact a local hitch/receiver company, such as U-Haul, or sometimes your trusted local automotive shop. We also recommend running a light package wire to the rear of your vehicle to power the lift's puddle light, which functions similarly to a standard license plate light.

What to Know
Make sure your vehicle has a hitch receiver installed. You will need to know what size you have — Class II has a 1 7/8" opening, Class III a 2" opening, and a Class V receiver also works. If you do not have a receiver, you will need one installed. You need to know how much weight your vehicle can support at the rear, or what is known as Tongue Weight. If you are looking for this number, it can be found in your factory manual for your car. For example, if your tow weight rating is 5,000 lbs, calculate 10% of that value (500 lbs) to determine your safe tongue weight limit. Harmar Vehicle Lift — Three-Year Transferable Limited Warranty
Harmar warrants its vehicle lifts to be free from defects in material, mechanical and electrical components (parts) for three (3) years from the date of retail purchase, provided the lift has been installed, maintained and operated properly by an authorized Harmar distributor or certified Harmar installer.

Harmar rates the AL300 for a Class II, Class III or Class V receiver. Class II has a 1 7/8" opening and Class III has a 2" opening. If your vehicle has no receiver, a local hitch installer can add one. A standard hitch adapter is included with the lift, and because the right adapter depends on your vehicle's receiver height and bumper distance we confirm the exact part with you before shipping.
It is compatible with minivans, SUVs and trucks that have a Class II, Class III or Class V hitch receiver. You will also need to check your vehicle's tongue weight capacity: a common rule of thumb is 10% of the towing capacity, and the lift's own weight of 80 lb counts toward it along with your chair or scooter.

Harmar covers the lift's parts — material, mechanical and electrical components — for three years from the date of retail purchase, and the warranty transfers with the vehicle when the application is approved by Harmar's Compatibility Calculator. Labor, batteries, paint, rust and covers are not covered. The lift must be installed and maintained by an authorized Harmar distributor or certified installer, and the warranty certificate returned to Harmar within ten days of installation. We confirm your vehicle and mobility-device fit before shipping so the warranty is valid from day one.
Per Harmar, vehicle lifts get power from the vehicle's battery: the lift is connected to the vehicle's electrical system and operated with controls inside or near the lift. Some lifts can also run from an independent battery pack dedicated to the lift, so it stays functional even if the vehicle's main battery is low or off — where Harmar offers that option for this model it appears in the configurator above.
