How to Find the Right Replacement Part for a Scooter or Power Chair

The fastest way to get the right replacement part is to identify it the way the manufacturer does: by the equipment model, the manufacturer part number and, for some parts, the serial number or production date. This guide explains each of those numbers, where they differ, and how to use our parts finder to go from the number to the part.

1. Start with the exact equipment model

"Go-Go scooter" or "Jazzy power chair" is a product family, not a model. Parts often differ between models in the same family, and between the 3-wheel and 4-wheel versions of the same scooter. Find the model name and model number on the equipment's serial label or in the owner's manual; the manual also shows where the label is on your model. Write down the full model, for example a Golden Buzzaround EX 4-wheel is the GB148, while the 3-wheel is the GB118.

2. Find the manufacturer part number (MPN)

The manufacturer part number identifies the exact part. It is printed on many parts, listed in the owner's manual or parts list, and shown on the manufacturer's order form. A few examples of how the brands we sell number their parts:

• Pride Mobility uses a letter prefix and digits, such as ACC, KIT or ELE followed by a number (for example KIT2001524 for the XLR USB charger).
• WHILL uses numbers such as 24-10029-0. On side-specific parts the last digit usually tells left from right: -0 and -1 are different parts.
• Golden Technologies part titles name the models they fit, such as GB120 or GP303.
• Harmar lift parts use AL or ALA numbers, such as ALA12015B.

3. SKU and MPN are not always the same thing

A SKU is a seller's stock code. For many parts our SKU is the manufacturer part number, but not always: a part sold in several colours or sizes can have one manufacturer number per variant, and a kit has its own number that differs from the numbers of the pieces inside it. Match the manufacturer part number and the variant (colour, size, side) rather than a SKU from another retailer.

4. Check left or right, revision and kit versus single part

• Left or right: armrests, fender covers, suspension arms and motors are often sold per side.
• Revision: manufacturers change parts during a model's production. If the part looks different from yours, or the model has been made for several years, the serial number or production date decides which version you need.
• Kit or single part: a kit (for example a bumper conversion kit or a battery box) includes several components and fasteners. Buying the single component is cheaper only if the rest of the assembly is in good condition.

5. Batteries, chargers and seats: the common replacements

These three are the parts owners replace most, and each has its own matching rule. A battery must match the voltage, chemistry and connector of the original, and a higher amp-hour rating of the same type gives more range. A charger must match the battery chemistry and the plug on your equipment. A seat must match the seat post or mounting plate. 6. Browse by brand

If you know the brand but not the number, start with the brand's parts collection: Pride Mobility, Golden Technologies, WHILL, Harmar vehicle lifts and BestCare patient lifts. Each part page lists the models it is sold for.

7. When to contact us instead

If you cannot find a number, the part is not listed, or you are unsure between two versions, contact us with the equipment's brand, model and serial number and a photo of the part. Many manufacturers supply parts to order that are not listed online, and we will confirm the fit before you order. Parts for brakes, motors, controllers and wiring affect how the equipment stops and drives; have those installed by a qualified technician.
