EV-1 Co-Pilot Technology Very Smart Chair

New technologies and safety features are emerging in the personal mobility sector, including power chairs and mobility scooters.  This marks the introduction of the first Co-Pilot technology in a power chair available for retail, brought to you by Strutt, a cutting-edge technology company based in Singapore.  Strutt employs some of the top engineers from DJI Drone company, leveraging their expertise to solve real-world mobility challenges for individuals who rely on this technology for daily living.  Strutt is a world-leading expert in smart products, specializing in advanced sensing, autonomous robotics, and intelligent hardware design.  The company focuses on supporting aging populations in urban environments that are not yet fully designed for people with disabilities, and it relishes tackling these complex challenges.

The Strutt EV1 isn't just a traditional power wheelchair- its a smart, semi-autonomous mobility vehicle packed with sensors, intelligent navigation, and advanced drive system.  It's designed to help people with mobility challenges move safely and independently, both indoors and outdoors.

Core Technologies

  • The Strutt Smart Wheel System features powerful quad-motors, active mixed-terrain wheels, and an intelligent drivetrain for precise, responsive control with superior torque.
  • Powered by an advanced LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery system, it offers enhanced safety and twice the capacity of many other personal mobility products on the market.
  • The Co-Pilot technology continuously senses the full complexity of the surrounding environment, making seamless adjustments as you move to help you navigate smoothly and safely avoid collisions with people, pets, walls, and furniture.

360 Degree Sensing

The 360-degree sensing system is powered by advanced smart algorithms and LiDAR technology—first pioneered for autonomous vehicles. With Co-Pilot, Strutt introduces this cutting-edge capability to personal mobility devices for the very first time.

Smart Mode

The Strutt ev¹ offers three intuitive operating modes to accommodate varying levels of user needs and confidence.

Normal Mode: Provides full manual control via the joystick, with no assistance from Co-Pilot technology—ideal for experienced users in open or familiar environments.

Support Mode: Allows you to control speed and direction with the joystick, while Co-Pilot technology intelligently assists by fluidly modulating speed, applying brakes, and making precise adjustments to prevent collisions in tight spaces, avoid unseen obstructions, or tip over hard-to-perceive edges. This enhanced safety layer brings peace of mind, reassuring loved ones away from home that their family member can navigate independently with added protection.

Glide Plus Mode: Elevates safety and accessibility further, making the ev¹ operable by nearly anyone—even those with the shakiest hands, limited eyesight, dementia, or other challenges that affect precise control, while still requiring powered mobility assistance. In this mode, Co-Pilot proactively scans ahead to plot the safest route around obstacles. You simply indicate direction with the joystick, and Glide Plus seamlessly adjusts path and speed for a smooth, effortless journey through tight corners, narrow spaces, and complex environments.

Live Mapping

See What the Vehicle Sees

  • Live 3D mapping and a rear-view camera feed provide enhanced situational awareness, giving you a clear view of your surroundings at all times.
  • At a glance on the real-time display, monitor your current speed, distance traveled, or the path Co-Pilot is navigating—empowering you with greater confidence and control.

LFP Battery Power System

Advanced LFP Battery Technology

  • LFP stands for Lithium Iron Phosphate—a battery chemistry renowned for its exceptional safety, low toxicity, and extended lifecycle.
  • Widely adopted in the automotive industry as the safest available technology, LFP delivers superior performance compared to standard lithium-ion batteries found in many current power chairs and mobility scooters.
  • While LFP batteries cost more upfront than conventional lithium-ion options, they deliver significantly longer lifespan—with 2,000 to 3,000 more charge cycles—ensuring years of reliable, powerful performance and outstanding long-term value.

Quad- Drive Motors & Suspension

Each wheel has its own powerful motor, providing strong torque and precise steering.  Combined with independent suspension, this helps the chair:

Climb slight inclines easily - We measured up to 2" threshold or curb climb

Traverse uneven surfaces like carpet, gravel, and slopes

Deliver a smooth ride rather than a jerky wheelchair-like motion

Why Buy the Strutt EV1

Traditional powerchairs rely entirely on the user's input and awareness.  The Ev1 blends autonomy and user control to reduce stress, expand independence, and enable safer navigation in complex environments, including independent living, retirement, and nursing facilities. This chair will also help if a parent moves into your home due to wall damage.  The Strutt EV1 drive modes will assist users in a way similar to how driver-assist tech works in modern cars.

The Strutt EV1 is Great for :

  • Users who want advanced safety and autonomy
  • People who navigate crowded indoor spaces
  • Those who struggle with precise joystick control
  • Individuals who value cutting-edge assistive tech

The Strutt EV1 is less suitable for:

Users needing highly specialized seating, tilt, or recline features

What is the Strutt EV1?

Strutt Ev1 is the first to bring a semi-autonomous mobility power chair with LiDAR Technology and Co-pilot to the market, helping prevent collisions and enabling safe, independent mobility at home or out.

What are the Key Technology and Features?

The Ev1 uses a combination of LiDAR, cameras, ultrasonic, and other sensors to build a live 3D map of the environment.  This enables the chair to detect obstacles, people, walls, and pets, and to avoid them in real time, while also mapping the house and supporting voice control to help users navigate safely and independently in and out of the home.

What are the smart navigation modes?

Unlike typical power chairs that require constant manual joystick control, the EV1 offers multiple driving assist modes:

Drive or Manual Mode: Full manual joystick control with safety tech preventing collisions.

Support Mode: You steer, but the chair automatically moderates speed and keeps you from hitting obstacles.

Glide/ Autonomous Mode: The chair plots its own path around obstacles or even to a destination you select on the display or via voice command hands free

What type of Battery Does the Strutt EV1 offer?

The Strutt ev¹ features the industry's most advanced and reliable battery technology: Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP). Known as the safest and longest-lasting option available, LFP outperforms traditional deep-cycle lead-acid batteries and standard lithium-ion (NMC or NCA) alternatives.

Key advantages of LFP include:

Exceptional longevity, delivering 3,000–5,000 charge cycles (or more)

Superior durability and resistance to high temperatures

No cobalt content, making it more environmentally friendly

Enhanced safety with minimal risk of thermal runaway

In comparison, deep-cycle lead-acid batteries typically last 300–500 cycles, while standard lithium-ion batteries offer around 1,000–2,000 cycles. This makes LFP the ideal choice for dependable, long-term performance in demanding applications.

Who is the Strutt EV1 best for?
