The WHILL Model C Lite is WHILL's folding carbon-frame electric wheelchair — built to be carried, not just driven. It keeps WHILL's omni-wheel maneuverability and suspension in a chair light enough to lift into a car.

What it weighs, honestly
WHILL markets the C Lite at 17 kg. That is the frame on its own. WHILL's own specification table lists 17.8 kg (39.2 lb) bare and 21.6 kg (47.6 lb) with the battery and cushions fitted — and 21.6 kg is what you actually lift into a car. We publish the higher number because that is the one that decides whether this chair works for you. An optional Loading Arm gives extra leverage for the lift.
Range
The standard battery is rated at 14.5 miles per charge. An optional long-range battery raises that to 23.9 miles. Range varies with terrain, load, temperature and how the chair is driven.
Availability in the United States
WHILL currently sells the Model C Lite in the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Spain. It is not listed in WHILL's US range, and we have not confirmed US pricing, warranty or configuration with WHILL. We are not taking orders for it. WHILL's specification table lists 17.8 kg (39.2 lb) for the chair itself and 21.6 kg (47.6 lb) with the battery and cushions fitted. The 21.6 kg figure is the one that matters when you lift it into a car — the widely quoted '17 kg' is the bare frame. WHILL offers an optional Loading Arm that attaches to the chair to give extra leverage.
A newly developed mechanism folds it with one hand in about two seconds, and once folded it stands upright on its own for storage or wheeling. Folded, it measures about 19.7 in long, 23.1 in wide and 29.7 in high.
WHILL rates the standard battery at 14.5 miles and the optional long-range battery at 23.9 miles. The battery is lithium-ion, 25.6 V / 10.6 Ah (about 271 Wh), and charges in up to 4.5 hours. Real-world range varies with terrain, rider weight, temperature and driving style.
It clears obstacles up to 2 inches, has 3 inches of ground clearance and is rated for inclines up to 10°. On cambered ground, sensors adjust each rear wheel's rotation independently to keep it tracking straight. The chair is IPX5 weather tested.
WHILL rates the Model C Lite for riders up to 136 kg (300 lb).
WHILL's brochure lists a Basket, a Long-Range USB Type-C Battery, a High Back Support and a Loading Arm. Which of these are sold in the US, and at what price, is part of what we still need to confirm with WHILL.
We are not making an air-travel claim for this chair. WHILL's European brochure marks it air-travel approved, but that is a European document about a European configuration, and airlines set their own rules for lithium batteries and mobility devices.
