Overview
The LRT Lift-Rotate-Transfer system is a floor-to-ceiling overhead patient lift with a folding articulating arm (440 lb on the 4 or 5 ft arm, 300 lb on the 6 ft arm), portable 300 lb or 440 lb motor packages and two slings included.
Lift, Rotate, Transfer — from the ceiling, not the floor
The LRT (Lift-Rotate-Transfer) system by EMR Distributors is an overhead patient lift that mounts between floor and ceiling (or floor and wall) and swings a portable lift motor over the bed, chair, commode or tub. Because the mast carries the load, nothing rolls across the floor: no base to steer around furniture, no legs to slide under a bed, and a footprint of a single post.
How it works
- Articulating arm: a two-section arm pivots through the room so one installation can serve several transfer points. The arm folds flat against the mast when not in use.
- 5-position height-adjustable arm and a telescoping upper mast set the working height to the ceiling and the caregiver.
- Adjustable rotation stops limit the upper arm's swing in each direction, so the motor always parks where it should.
- Swivel eyelet with a large opening keeps the motor strap from twisting during a lift.
- Portable motor packages: a 300 lb or a 440 lb motor package clips to the arm. Motor packages include the reacher bar as standard, and the motor can move between LRT installations in the home.
Configured to your room
- Arm length: 4 ft, 5 ft or 6 ft articulating arm (8, 10 or 12 ft of reach). Rated maximum load: 440 lb on the 4 ft and 5 ft arm, 300 lb on the 6 ft arm — each figure includes the portable lift motor, sling and patient (EMR LRT Users Guide rev. 1).
- Ceiling height: models for 7 ft 6 in. up to 14 ft ceilings (custom to 16 ft); joist mount options for flat and cathedral ceilings and mobile homes.
- Mounting: ceiling mount or wall/ceiling mount is standard; a floor (foot) mount from 0 to 6 in. carries no upcharge, with 12, 18 and 24 in. foot extensions for taller ceilings. Joist and stud mounting hardware is specified to the structure.
- Options: rotation-stop pairs, additional slings, repositioning and limb-lifting slings, disposable slings.
- Included: two slings with every LRT or package, in your choice of three models and fabrics (a small upcharge applies to XXL).
Warranty
EMR backs the LRT with a 6-year warranty; the portable lift motor carries its own manufacturer's warranty and service.

Full-back and mid-back universal slings for seated transfers; amputee and hygiene slings; limb lifters for dressing changes and wound care; repositioning slings for boosting up or turning in bed.

No. The LRT is a floor-to-ceiling (or floor-to-wall) mast with a swinging arm, so it installs without a ceiling track and can be moved to another room later.
Two slings come with every LRT or package (three models and fabrics to choose from; XXL carries a small upcharge). Motor packages include the reacher bar, and a ceiling mount or wall/ceiling mount is standard. A 0 to 6 in. floor foot mount carries no upcharge.
Yes. The motor packages are portable and clip to the arm, so one motor can serve more than one LRT installation in the home.
