What happens after you order
- Order received. Your options and delivery choice are saved with the order, and you get an order confirmation by email.
- Shipped. This product ships from the manufacturer or by freight carrier. Carrier transit time does not include order processing or manufacturer lead time.
- Delivery is scheduled with you. The freight delivery agent contacts you directly to set an appointment; freight transit is typically one to two weeks after dispatch.
- Delivered the way you chose. Free curbside (lift-gate) delivery is included.
- Inspect it on arrival. If a shipment is severely damaged, refuse it, and report damage or a wrong item within 48 hours.

Luxury Adjustable Height Bed for Home Use
The Flexabed Hi-Low SL Adjustable Bed combines the comfort and appearance of a premium adjustable bed with powered vertical height adjustment. It is designed for home healthcare, assisted living, caregivers, and people who may benefit from easier transfers into and out of bed.
Important: Flexabed describes the Hi-Low SL as a luxury alternative to a hospital-style bed for the home, but states that a Flexabed adjustable bed should not be considered a replacement for a hospital bed. A physician should be consulted when medical needs are involved. If you specifically need features such as Trendelenburg positioning or a hospital-style clinical platform, consider a homecare bed designed for those functions.
The Hi-Low SL raises and lowers the entire sleep surface vertically while also allowing independent head and foot positioning for sleeping, relaxing, reading, watching television, and transfers.

Hi-Low Bed Height Guide
The floor-to-mattress height depends on the selected mattress and whether the bed uses leg pads or casters. Casters add approximately 2-1/4 inches compared with leg pads.

How Low Can the Hi-Low SL Go?
With leg pads and the Low Profile Mattress, the mattress-top height can be approximately 16.5 inches from the floor when fully lowered. With a Gel Mattress and casters, the mattress top can reach approximately 30-3/4 inches when fully raised.
Flexabed leg extensions can also be used to raise the bed in 1-inch increments when a custom height is needed.
Mattress Options
Traditional innerspring mattresses are available in soft, medium, and firm constructions. The Premier and Hi-Low SL can also be configured with other Flexabed mattress constructions, including:

Standard Hi-Low SL Sizes
Flexabed's current model guide lists the Hi-Low SL in Twin, Full, Queen, and Dual King configurations. Dual King is commonly referred to as a split king.

Dual King – Stay Close to Your Partner
A Dual King configuration allows two independently adjustable beds to sit side by side. A Hi-Low SL can also be paired with a compatible Flexabed Premier or Value-Flex so partners with different positioning or height-adjustment needs can continue sleeping beside one another.
Optional Side Rails
Side rails can provide an additional handhold and added support. Flexabed states that each compatible bed can accommodate up to four rails—two at the head and two at the foot—when configured appropriately. Side-rail covers are also available.
Installation and Room Planning
The Hi-Low SL is a freestanding adjustable bed. Flexabed states that a headboard cannot be attached to the Hi-Low frame, and the bed should not be placed inside a standard existing bed frame.
The Hi-Low mechanism raises approximately 7.5 inches vertically and also travels approximately 7.5 inches horizontally toward the foot end through its range of motion. Allow adequate clearance for the moving bed and surrounding furniture.

Flexabed Limited Lifetime Warranty — Hi-Low SL Bed

Because Flexabed builds every bed by hand, we stand behind our product with a great warranty. This warranty covers the entire bed — each and every component and design feature (even the mattress!), without exception. Our warranty is transferable: it is not limited to the person who purchases the bed, so if you sell or give the bed to someone else it remains under warranty.
Motors And Lifting Mechanism
- During the first 12 months after purchase, Flexabed will provide in-home parts and labor at no charge. All parts will be shipped via UPS ground; any expedited charges must be paid by the customer.
- After the first year, any part may be sent to the factory freight prepaid by the customer for repair, reconditioning or replacement at the factory's option for a $100.00 fee plus any shipping charges incurred to ship the part back to the customer.
Mattress And Upholstered Base
- During the first 12 months after purchase, Flexabed will provide in-home repairs or replacement at the factory's option at no charge, provided the defect is demonstrated to be a defect in materials or workmanship and is more than normal wear and tear.
- After the first year of purchase, the mattress and/or the upholstered base may be sent to the factory freight prepaid by the customer for repair, reconditioning or replacement at the factory's option for a $100.00 fee, and will be returned freight collect at the customer's expense.
- If the mattress shows unmistakable signs of abuse or wetting, the warranty is void and you will have the option to have it returned to you as-is freight collect or discarded.
Exclusions And Limitations
This warranty does not apply to any product subjected to customer misuse, electrical surges, damage in transit or handling by the delivering agent unless the customer signs the bill of lading with damages noted, or which, in the opinion of Flexabed, has been altered or repaired by an unauthorized representative in any way that affects the reliability or detracts from the performance of the product. Replacement parts are warranted for the unexpired balance of the original warranty period. This warranty does not include responsibility for transportation or handling expenses except those specified. The foregoing is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed, implied, or statutory. Flexabed neither assumes nor authorizes any person to assume for it any other obligation or liability in connection with the sale of this product. In the unlikely event that critical repair components become impossible to acquire after the 5th year and a repair cannot be made, Flexabed will offer an "in-lieu of" discount of 33% off the MSRP in effect at that time toward the purchase of a new mattress or articulating base unit.
To prove a defect in materials or workmanship, the customer will be expected to provide pictures and/or video as prescribed by Flexabed service personnel to show the defect is not normal wear and tear. Warranty claims are coordinated through Affordable Medical USA — call us with your order number.

No. Flexabed calls it a luxury alternative to a hospital bed for the home: a residential adjustable bed with powered height adjustment. Flexabed also states it should not be considered a replacement for a hospital bed and recommends consulting a physician about medical needs. It has no Trendelenburg tilt and no metal-mesh platform; for those, see the iCare IC333.
Twin, Full, Queen and Split King (two twin bases that adjust independently). At Affordable Medical USA the bed is 80 in long as standard with an 84 in option; Flexabed also builds a 74 in length that we can quote by phone.
Both are included at no extra charge; you pick one when you order because Flexabed builds the bed for that control. The wired remote runs head, foot, hi-low and a flashlight. Dual massage, under-bed lighting and voice activation only work on the wireless build, so choose wireless if you add any of those.
No. Flexabed says headboards and bed frames cannot be attached directly to the Hi-Low bed and footboards cannot be used. Many owners mount a headboard on the wall behind the bed, as long as it does not block the bed's movement.
Innerspring (the only construction with a soft, medium or firm choice), low profile, innerspring/memory-foam combo, visco memory-foam core, gel memory foam and latex core. Each is priced by bed size in the configurator; mattress height changes the sleeping height, which is why we list heights per mattress type.
Yes. The Split King is two twin bases side by side, each with its own controls and mattress, so each side raises, lowers and articulates independently. Capacity is 400 lb per occupant, 700 lb total.
400 lb for a single occupant. In a dual-occupant Split King the total is 700 lb with no single occupant over 400 lb. Flexabed offers a reinforced frame it recommends for occupants over 300 lb — ask us before ordering if that applies.
