Whill Ri Mobility Scooter with IPX5 Components
The New Whill Model Ri Urban Three Wheel Mobility scooter, winner of the iF Design Award 2024, is launching this June. This scooter will have IPX5 components, which means Ri can withstand water from any direction but not under high pressure. Model Ri will have anti-tip technology and a dual motor system for extremely tight turning. The battery will be FAA-approved for all travel and wireless disconnections for disassembly for easy loading into the vehicle. The seat swivels and will have a cushion, adjustable arms for height and width, a digital dashboard, and Bluetooth technology. The unit will have a large removable basket under the seat and tie-down for bus travel or other means of travel.
The R/Ri Series is now available in both three-wheel and four-wheel configurations. The newly launched Whill R four-wheel model, introduced this year at Medtrade in Dallas, Texas, is an impressive addition to the lineup. The four-wheel design provides enhanced stability and peace of mind, especially when navigating uneven terrain, slopes, or areas with dips, making it ideal for outdoor use.
Like the three-wheel version, the four-wheel model features advanced rear dual-motor technology, allowing exceptionally tight turning—perfect for maneuvering in elevators or confined spaces. With both configurations now available, we can cater to a broader customer needs. The Whill R/Ri Series scooters are built for exceptional reliability, featuring top-quality craftsmanship and IPX5-rated components for durability.
Whill Manufacturing is considering this an urban mobility scooter for active users. One benefit of a three-wheel scooter is leg room, but people worry about tipping over. Whill has designed this scooter with many safety and comfort features to allow a user to feel confident in operating the Whill Ri with an angle sensor for slow-down turning, anti-tip technology, an independent stabilizer system, and complete independent shock absorption for a comfortable, enjoyable ride experience. Warranty Information
- 5 Years: Coverage for the base and seat frame.
- 2 Years: Warranty on the cushion and backrest.
- 1 Year: Protection for mechanical and electrical components, including batteries.
- 1 Year: In-home labor warranty for repairs.
- 2 Years: Mobility Solutions will cover repair costs if brought to a Whill Authorized Dealer, managed by Mobility Solutions LLC.
Warranty and Registration
The unit has a one-year warranty, but you can extend the warranty to TWO YEARS by filling out the Warranty and Registration form.

U.S. LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY POLICY
September 1, 2019
WHILL, Inc. (WHILL) personal mobility and wheelchair products (“Product”) are warrantied against defects in materials and artistry as follows, for a period from the date of your receipt of the Product from WHILL or a WHILL-authorized third-party distributor or reseller equal to the following: (i) concerning the base and seat frame, five (5) years, and (ii) concerning the seat and back cushion, two (2) years, and (iii) concerning the electrical and mechanical components, batteries, and tires, one (1) year (“Warranty Period”) in each case when used by the applicable usage documentation. Suppose a defect arises during the Warranty Period. In that case, WHILL will, at its option, (a) provide replacement parts that are new and previously used parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability to the defective parts or, with your consent, are at least functionally equivalent to the parts they replace; or (b) exchange the affected Product with a functionally equivalent Product that is new or formed from new and previously used parts that are equivalent to in performance and reliability or, with your consent, a Product that is at least functionally equivalent to the Product it replaces.
This warranty excludes (i) normal depletion of consumable and wearable parts (such as trim components and covers for the seat and back cushion) unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or artistry and (ii) damage resulting from abuse, accident, modifications, unauthorized repairs, or other causes that are not defects in materials and artistry.
Further, this warranty does not cover any labor costs that may be incurred in connection with the installation or repair of your Product. The Product is sold primarily through third-party distributors and resellers, which provide warranty repair services to WHILL customers. They may or may not charge fees for their repair labor under separate terms and conditions. If the distributor or reseller is no longer in business or has ceased to sell WHILL products, WHILL will provide a list of authorized repair companies. Please get in touch with WHILL to obtain a current list of authorized repair companies.
This warranty is valid solely for customers who purchased their Product directly from WHILL or a WHILL-authorized third-party distributor or reseller in the United States and Canada. This warranty is not valid outside of the United States and Canada.
Some states and countries do not allow limitations on how long such warranties, conditions, and implied terms may last, so the limitation described above may not apply to you. This warranty is offered in addition to rights and remedies conveyed by consumer protection laws and regulations that cannot be statutorily waived and do not affect your applicable statutory rights.
No person other than WHILL is authorized to modify this limited product warranty.
