Harmar Universal AL300 Universal Power Chair and Mobility Scooter Power Lift
Harmar Al300 Universal Lift is perfect for someone struggling with transporting a power chair or mobility scooter. Harmar is a trusted company with 1000 dealers across North America and provides high-quality products for you to live life. Harmar makes many different types of lifts for each person's needs and use. Harmar-mounted lifts are very easy to use and have many models. The AL300 Series Universal lift is for someone looking to haul a power chair or mobility scooter. Well-built full power lift with a lifting capacity of up to 350 LBS and an upgraded HD model to support 400 LBS.
Harmar AL300 is a hitch-mounted lift and can be installed into a hitch class II or III receiver ( Class II has a 1 7/8" Hitch opening) and ( Class III has a 2 " hitch open). For the Harmar hitch mount lift to work for your vehicle, you already have a Class II or III receiver installed. You will need to contact a local hitch/receiver company, such as Hual, or sometimes your trusted local automatic shop. We also suggest running a light package wire to the back to operate the puddle light on the lift. This light operates like the current puddle light on your license plate.

What to Know
Make sure your vehicle has a hitch receiver installed. You will need to know what size you have, either a Class II (1 7/8") or Class III (2" open). If you do not have a receiver, you will need one installed. You need to know how much weight your vehicle can support at the rear, or what is known as Tongue Weight. If you are looking for this number, it can be found in your factory manual for your car. Suppose the tow weight is 5000 pounds. Calculate the tongue weight by 10 percent. This will be the best number to ensure your vehicle can handle a hitch-mounted lift. We don't suggest maxing out your tongue weight. We also need to know the height from the ground to the bottom surface of the hitch receiver. We need to see if you need a standard hitch adapter or drop hitch to accommodate the lift to reach the ground for unloading and loading your power device. When adding a swing-away, you might have to add a drop hitch. This can be a little overwhelming, but if you need help finding the correct hitch mount from Harmar, call us at 803-926-2224. We will help find and talk to you about different hitch-mounted lifts for your vehicle. We will need to know the make, model, and year of the car, along with the make and model of your power device.
Optional Professional or Do it yourself installation
We are a local business in West Columbia, South Carolina, and a lift squad dealer. Being a lift squad dealer consists of ongoing, in-depth Harmar factory training and certification. Pass annual background checks. When ordering your hitch-mounted lift from us and choosing a professional install, we will work with other trained Lift Squad dealers in your area. Dispatching a certified installer can be expensive, but you can install the lift yourself. How to install a hitch-mounted lift can be too much for some people, but a family or local mechanic can help you save money. While most local mechanics might not install the lift onto your vehicle, they might run the power wire, which takes the most time. Below is a video of the Harmar AL300 Series Hitch mount lift installation that can help with the installation. We hope the video helps you with the installation. We are here to help with questions before taking on this project. We refer you to one of Harmar's local dealers, like us, in your area.

Why Not Buy AL300 Universal Lift
We suggest an AL100 Model Hitch-Mounted Lift if you use a scooter and will only use a mobility scooter. The reason to buy the AL300 is to carry a power chair or mobility scooter. The Harmar AL300 is designed to handle both units but has four locking self-tensioning straps that might be too much for work for someone with weak or arthritic hands. They are easy to use, but this could be an issue for some people. Harmar AL100 is the most bought and effortless lift, with a locking arm that holds the unit down without straps. The AL100 will only work for mobility scooters. Another option is the AL560, which has a power chair hold-down arm. The Harmar AL560 with a locking arm is easier for some people because of the hold-down arm, but it can wear down the seat over a period if not adjusted correctly.
