The Travel Buggy Heavy Duty Folding Power Wheelchair City 2 features dual batteries for an extra long driving range, reinforced aluminum frame capable of holding up to 395 lbs, and powerful motors that can tackle inclines up to 12 degrees. City 2 Plus offers quick fold up design but also allows both motors to to be removed to reduce the weight of the unit to less than 40 pounds. The City 2 Plus also offers comfort with a large ergonomically designed seat cushion, adjustable seating arm width and a soft contoured flip back armrest design.

We have been in this business a long time, and occasionally, something comes along that has us going 'aw' and 'wow!'. The City 2 Plus is built to impress. For what it can do it may be one of the best all-around folding power wheelchairs on the market today. Its hefty frame can support 350+ pounds, yet it is not heavy. Sixty-five pounds isn't too bad, but when you remove the rear wheels, which isn't difficult, you have a chair that is 40 pounds.
Forty pounds puts this beast in the class of much smaller and less capable scooters. That alone is impressive. Comfort may be its next biggest plus. The deep 18.5 seats and their 3" thickness make for a most comfortable sitting experience, and if you are a little bigger, the armrests can move out an additional 3.5" to give you more wiggle room. The 20.5" high back gives your back more room to rest - again leaving other chairs in its weight class in the dust.
How nice would a multi-position reclining back be to you? Well, you get it with the City 2 Plus. Multi-position means finding just the spot to fully support your back and let you really rest comfortably. We know this sounds silly, but cup holders are really important to people, so we naturally noticed the HUGE cupholder on the City 2 Plus. If you drink Fosters "oil cans," you are in luck! How much does the City 2 Plus weigh?
- When folded, the City 2 Plus weighs 65 pounds, including the batteries. One battery located on each side of the chair can easily be removed to reduce the chair's weight by 6 pounds ( each battery weighs 3 pounds). Note that batteries can also be removed and charged away from the power chair. You can also remove the back motor and wheels with easy no-tool disconnection, reducing the weight by 25 pounds. The City 2 Plus is a heavy-duty power chair, and it can handle weight of up to 395 pounds compared to most folding power chairs at 300 pounds. The City 2 has to be heavier. But the option to reduce the weight by removing the motors and batteries, allowing for less lifting weight, is a big plus if you need it.
What is the distance of battery travel?
- City 2 Plus has a battery range of up to 15.5 miles. Some variables reduce battery distance (e.g., terrain, speed, and user weight). Just like all mobility products, the advertised battery range is usually determined in a controlled environment, hard surface, slow to medium operating speed, and a user weighing around 200 pounds.
- City 2 Plus battery type is Lithium-ion ( 24 Volt 6AH) with 144 Watthours. The City 2 Plus will have one of these batteries located on each side of the unit that can be easily removed and charged independently away from the unit. This will allow you to leave the power chair in the vehicle but allow you to charge the batteries inside your home for your next travel adventure. You can also charge the batteries on the unit with the same charger by plugging into the joystick.
- City 2 Plus Batteries are TSA-approved, and since they can be removed, you can take them onto the plane with you.
